Astro Bot Christmas Level Available Now

In another free update for Game of the Year winner ‘Astor Bot’, Team Asobi have dropped a new update with another level titled ‘Winter Wonder’. This comes after the well-received free speedrun levels that came out over the last couple of months. Of course, more Astro Bot is always welcome- especially considering that this additional level is also free to download for anybody who has the main game.

The new winter themed level will allow you to rescue new (presumably Christmas themed) bots, explore a snowy landscape and get in the spirit for the holidays. If it follows in the footsteps of the base game, this is sure to be a fun little addition to what is one of the best platforming games ever made. If you haven’t picked it up already, there’s really no excuse.

As part of the announcement for this small content drop, Team Asobi may have hinted at additional DLC. They specifically noted ‘until next time’, which may mean more than you think. The speedrun and mini updates could be just the beginning for what is one of PlayStation’s best releases of recent years. Astro Bot has been a huge success with 1.5 million sales in two months. Sure- its not quite reaching the heights of Spider-Man 2 and God of War: Ragnarok but it’s a hige achievement for a smaller budget release. Hopefully, Sony follow up on this success with a meatier, more substantial paid DLC alongside the free updated we’ve already received.

Of course, they could go in another direction by focusing on a sequel (which would make a perfect release alongside the PlayStation 6) but Astro Bot fans are clamouring for more. Hopefully, Team Asobi isn’t done just yet and we get to see more of PlayStation’s latest mascot in the next few months. Until then, however, make sure to check out the Winter Wonder level as part of a free update for the game right now.
