2021 Game of the Year Award Winner Now Available on PS Plus
Just ahead of Geoff Keighley’s 10th annual Game Awards later this week, you can pick up a previous winner as part of PS Plus subscription. This will be available on all tiers- meaning you’ll be able to try it out on essential, extra and premium. The game in question is ‘It Takes Two’, which was awarded game of the year award winner when it launched back in 2021. This remains one of only two solely multiplayer games (the other being Overwatch) which snagged the award.
This two-player action platforming game sees you paired up with your significant other in game as you’re shrunk into tiny dolls and forced to content with the perils of being tiny (a phenomenon that Pikmin players know all too well). While its predominantly a co-operative game, that doesn’t mean that you won’t be afforded ample opportunity to mess up your teammate at any given opportunity.
Amongst ‘It Takes Two’, you can also pick-up real-time strategy offering ‘Aliens: The Dark Descent’ and Pokemon inspired MMO ‘Temtem’ on all tiers of the service. They’ll all be available to add to your library until January 6th, 2025. These are the final offerings for PlayStation’s 30th Anniversary (unless Sony plans to reveal something before the tail end of the year) so make sure to pick them up if you have a PS Plus subscription.
It's been three years now since ‘It Takes Two’ released which means (hopefully) developer Hazelight Studios are busy working on a successor to this great co-op offering. Considering founder Josef Fares’s pension for appearing at the Game Awards shows, we could see some more information on their next project sooner than you may think. Until then, make sure to pick up ‘It Takes Two’ (as well as all of the other freebies on offer) before the end of PlayStation’s 30th Anniversary celebrations.
