Citizen Sleeper 2 Comes to Game Pass Later This Month
The sequel to one of 2022’s best indies, Citizen Sleeper, is coming to all major consoles at the tail end of the month on January 31st. What’s better- its going to be available on Game Pass day one. The original game was a dice driven narrative RPG that saw players make tough decisions like choosing between paying debts and growing stronger with limited resources. Choices also mattered a lot- with the smallest decision coming back to aid or haunt players later on.
The much-anticipated sequel titled ‘Starward Vector’ is set to follow in the footsteps of the first. With more narrative-driven choices, detailed skills to pick between, and even the addition of a crew to maintain, Citizen Sleeper 2 is taking all of the great elements from the first game and cranking them up to 11 in what could be one of the best indies coming out this year.
Much like the first game, you are on the run from a criminal gang, and your corporate overlords as a human mind inside an android body (think Blade Runner and Cyberpunk: 2077 for similar themes). With so much on the line, you’ll be forced to make drastic and difficult decisions just to stay alive. With everything in this release revolving around text-based choices, you can be assured that each choice actually matters.
Unlike the first Citizen Sleeper, however, (which was set entirely on one space station), the sequel sees players commandeer their very own ship which will have to be upgraded to visit different settlements in the stars. This greater scope should allow for a wider variety of choices and character building than the first. As long as this release keeps up the fantastic atmosphere and music from its predecessor alone, however, it’ll be well worth picking up. You can check this out on January 31st- with both it and the original being available on Game Pass.
